Manufacturing industries utilize aluminum casting for a variety of reasons. Casting is a relatively simple and cost-effective way of forming a wide array of products. Furthermore, aluminum can be shaped and maneuvered into a variety of products and shapes which is why industries, such as the automobile industry, use this specific metal for much of its production design.  In fact, the automobile industry uses cast aluminum for over 50% of its products.  Because automobiles are made with intricate engine components, casting is a necessary element to ensure full optimization.
